Winners for 2023 to be Honored during IsDB Group Annual Meetings

The process to select the winners of the 2023 IsDB Prize for Impactful Achievement in Islamic Economics will be concluded in the first quarter of the year. The laureates will be honored during a special ceremony to be held on the sidelines of the IsDB Group Annual Meeting in Jeddah on 10-13 May 2023.

Nominations for the year’s prize cycle closed in December 2022, paving the way for the selection committee to begin its work of evaluating the entries and choosing the winners.

Focusing on the Development Solutions Achievement category, this cycle of the Prize aims to recognize, reward, and encourage creative projects that successfully solve economic and financial challenges in the IsDB Member Countries.

Applications and nominations were received based on projects that have positive and significant impact on people’s lives, and substantial impact on economic development based on Islamic principles.

The Development Solutions Achievement category of the prize comes with a US$ 100,000 award for the first-place winner, US$ 70,000 for second place, and US$ 30,000 for third place. The nominated projects should be initiated within the previous seven years and be replicable elsewhere.
